Julia Gershenzon
My quest for action is driven by the understanding that addressing the ecological and climate crises necessitate collective action, scientifically informed decision-making, and a dedication to environmental and social justice.
Presently, my focus lies in researching the far-reaching implications of extractive industries like mining on our society and the environment globally. Simultaneously, I am dedicated to exploring realistic alternatives to our current exploitative economic models of development.
My dedication to socially just and sustainable development extends beyond research, as I am involved in hands-on projects aimed at effecting real transformation, both institutionally and at a grassroots level. This includes efforts to engage environmental youth groups in Ethiopia and Austria alike, to increase access to education and opportunities, recognizing that the fight for climate justice must be inclusive and accessible to all.
